The 2020 Australian Grand Prix has been cancelled due to coronavirus

UPDATE (10.34am): The 2020 Australian Grand Prix has officially been cancelled mere hours before practice was to begin, amid mounting concerns over the spread of coronavirus. In a statement issued jointly by F1, governing body the FIA and the Australian Grand Prix Corporation, organisers confirmed the race would not go ahead, with all Formula 1 activity cancelled and ticket holders to be issued a full refund.

Sydney commutes are Australia's longest

Sydney drivers have Australia's worst commute, with the average worker spending more than 70 minutes getting to and from work. According to the latest Household Income and Labour Dynamics in Australia (HILDA) survey, the average Sydney commuter suffers through a 71-minute daily round trip. Brisbane drivers were the second worst-off at 67 minutes, while Melburnians face an average commute time of 65 minutes.

Melbourne to lead Uber Air pilot

Melbourne will sit alongside Dallas and Los Angeles as a pilot city for Uber Air, with trials to start in 2020. The company will work alongside Telstra, Macquarie and the owner/operator of Westfield, along with Melbourne Airport, to create the infrastructure and communications network necessary for airborne ride-sharing.

UberAir flying taxis could come to Sydney, Melbourne

Ride-sharing giant Uber could be bringing its high-flying uberAIR service to Sydney and Melbourne, as the company looks for 'launch cities' to trial its latest program. Using electric vertical take-off and landing vehicles (eVTOLs), uberAIR shuttles have space for up to four passengers along with "their personal bags and backpacks". The eVTOLs feature four propellers that allow them to take off from the ground vertically, and a single rotor on the tail to propel them forwards.
