Former Uber engineer charged for stealing autonomous driving secrets

Anthony Levandowski, the former head of the self-driving car research program at Uber, has been indicted on 33 charges related to stealing secrets from his former employer Waymo, the autonomous driving arm of Google. Federal prosecutors allege Levandowski downloaded 14,000 files, including circuit board layouts and LiDAR designs, from Google's self-driving vehicle division and stored them on a personal laptop.

Arizonans attack self-driving Waymo vans at least 21 times

Self-driving vehicles being operated by Waymo, the autonomous driving division of Google, have been attacked or threatened at least 21 times since 2016. Incidents have included a resident waving a hand gun at a passing Waymo car, being run off the road, tyre slashing, being assaulted with rocks, and verbal abuse.

Jaguar I-Pace joins Waymo driverless fleet

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) and Google's Waymo autonomous driving division have announced a long-term strategic partnership this week at the New York motor show. Self-driving Chrysler Pacifica revealed by Google's Waymo and FCA

The autonomous Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid developed by Waymo, Google's self-driving car division, and Fiat Chrysler (FCA) has been revealed. These first images of the new autonomous Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, released overnight, come just over seven months after Google and FCA announced that they would team up to develop a fleet of 100 self-driving vehicles for the search giant's on-going research and development.
