Isuzu FD-SI concept unveiled in Tokyo

The Isuzu FD-SI delivery van concept has been unveiled this week at the 2017 Tokyo motor show. Every Tokyo motor show features small boxy vehicles designed to maximise every inch of road space they use, and this year was no exception. The Isuzu FD-SI made its debut on the truck and ute specialist's stand and, while it's commendably narrow, it looks to considerably longer than permitted in the kei car class.

Toyota's new Crown fit for Japanese heads only, again

Toyota's big Crown sedan has been kept from Australian roads for decades. Some seven generations of Japan's longest-running passenger car have never seen this land, meaning an entire generation of Australians have never laid eyes on a brand-new example. The Crown has an Australian story of its own, having been assembled here in days of old, but this market's current aversion to large sedans looks likely to ensure the upcoming 15th-generation model will be the latest to steer clear.

Mazda Vision Coupe concept showcases next-generation design language

As is a tradition for the Japanese brand, it has used the bi-annual Tokyo motor show to showcase a vision concept, following on from the previous show’s RX-Vision. The Vision Coupe concept, which has four doors, not two, is not an extension of the RX-Vision concept, but more than likely a showcase for the future of large sedans from Mazda. It's more than likely the Vision Coupe hints at what we may expect from the next-generation Mazda 6, which is still a few years away.
