Subaru recalls Impreza, XV, WRX, WRX STI and Forester

Subaru has issued a recall across its 2009-16 Impreza, 2012-15 XV, 2009-14 WRX, 2011-14 WRX STI and 2013-15 Forester model lines, over concerns about their 'Stop Light Switch'. According to the company, the Stop Light Switch could be affected by 'outside contaminants', causing the electrical contact points to malfunction.

Subaru WRX STI Diamond Edition revealed for South Africa

Subaru South Africa has announced the WRX STI Diamond Edition to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Subaru Technica International (STI). Developed by the South African division, the Diamond Edition is the most powerful version of the WRX STI offered globally, retuned to deliver a meaty 349hp (260kW) and 342lb-ft (464Nm). Subaru claims the Diamond Edition will hit 100km/h in 5.03 seconds (compared to 5.76 seconds in the standard car), on its way to a top speed of 255km/h.

2019 Subaru WRX, WRX STI upgrades announced for the US

Subaru of America has detailed the upgraded 2019 WRX and WRX STI range for the USA, bringing new safety kit and infotainment to the sports sedan line-up. In addition to the limited-edition Series.Gray specials revealed earlier this week, the WRX now comes as standard in North America with Subaru's EyeSight driver-assist system when equipped with the CVT – meaning autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist are now included.

Subaru WRX STI Type RA set to debut June 8

Subaru has released a teaser image of the WRX STI Type RA, ahead of its debut this week on June 8. The close-up photo shows a carbon-fibre roof, with a bonnet scoop in the background. To hype up the production car, Subaru has also released a video of the race-modified WRX STI Type RA NBR Special being tested at Silverstone, and in less-than-perfect conditions at the Nuerburgring Nordschleife.
