Volkswagen takes a swipe at Subaru drivers in new ID.4 commercial

Volkswagen has delivered a playful dig at Subaru in a new ad for its ID.4 electric SUV by subtly implying that Subaru owners may not be so deserving of their 'green' image. The ad, currently airing in North America, features a family that's recently purchased an ID.4, and follows each family member as they detail how their lives have changed for the better since owning the car.

2021 Subaru Outback recalled over brake booster fault – UPDATE

UPDATE, 24 March 2021: Subaru Australia has now issued a second recall notice for the 2021 Subaru Outback. The second recall affects 1982 examples of the new-generation large SUV and pertains to a fault with the car's pre-collision braking system. The issue prompted the car maker's Japanese factory to issue a "stop delivery" notice to Australia Subaru dealers. Full details of the second recall can be found here.

2021 Subaru Outback: All-new model will revive struggling nameplate, company claims

Subaru Australia says the all-new 2021 Subaru Outback has the technology and market appeal to reverse the nameplate’s long-term sales decline, according to the brand’s general manager Blair Read. Speaking to CarAdvice following the arrival of the new model, Mr Read said: “We see great opportunity [with the new 2021 Subaru Outback], and we see it becoming basically the flagship of the range.”

Subaru recalls various models over like-for-like Takata airbags

Subaru Australia has recalled several model lines over Takata airbags, including older-generation versions of the Impreza, Forester, Liberty and Outback. Affected vehicles have been subject to previous recalls involving like-for-like replacement airbags as part of the ongoing Takata campaign, with the new ones not at risk of the well-documented fault.
