2023 Subaru Forester, Subaru Outback, Subaru Crosstrek recalled with safety fault

A crack on the front driveshaft of these vehicles could stop the car while in motion.


Subaru Australia has recalled a total of 28 vehicles, including the 2023 MY23 Subaru Forester, MY23 Subaru Outback and MY23 Subaru Crosstrek, due to a manufacturing fault which could lead to the vehicles stopping while in motion.

The recall notice published by the Department of Infrastructure, says: "The front driveshaft may not meet manufacturing specifications and the outer race of the front driveshaft may crack."

"If this occurs, the vehicle will stop operating while in motion."

"If the vehicle stops operating while in motion, this could increase the risk of an accident, causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users."
