Nissan, Carlos Ghosn fined by US authorities for hiding pay

They might have come to the fore in 2018, but the US SEC says Nissan's financial troubles began in 2004 when it granted Carlos Ghosn, its then-CEO, the authority to set executive compensation – including his own. The commission believes between 2009 and his arrest in 2018, Ghosn "with substantial assistance from [director Greg] Kelly and subordinates at Nissan" hid US$90 million ($133 million) in pay from official filings, and increase Ghosn's retirement bonus by US$50 million ($74 million).

Renault obstacle-avoidance technology "as good as professional test drivers"

Renault has demonstrated its latest autonomous driving systems, including obstacle avoidance technology "as good as professional test drivers". The systems are a product of the Renault Open Innovation Lab, focused on improving active safety and autonomous driving systems within the broader 'Groupe Renault.' Renault-Nissan Alliance and Dongfeng Motor to co-develop EVs in China

The Renault-Nissan Alliance and Dongfeng Motor Group have announced their collaboration on developing and selling electric vehicles (EVs) in China. Mercedes-Benz utility details to be revealed in October

Details on the first ever Mercedes-Benz pick-up utility vehicle are set to be revealed later this month, according to a release from the Renault-Nissan Alliance. The release focused on the intra-brand co-operative deal between Renault, Nissan and Mercedes-Benz in the joint development of a new pick-up truck. We already knew that - Mercedes-Benz announced its ute project a while ago - but this new release has offered up some fresh details on the vehicle.
