Samsung adds wireless Android Auto support

Samsung has become the second Android phone manufacturer to support wireless Android Auto, following in the footsteps of Google's own Pixel phones. According to a report from Android Police the Galaxy S8, S9 and S10, along with the Note 8, 9 and 10 all support wireless smartphone mirroring – provided the user is running Android 9 and version 4.7 of the Android Auto app. You also need to be in the USA, Canada or Mexico.

Toyota introduces Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in Australia, but there’s a catch

Toyota Australia is finally poised to roll out Apple CarPlay and Android Auto across its new-car range – starting with the new RAV4 which goes on sale this week. However, the technology won’t be fitted to cars on the production line until later this year. The initial batch of new-generation RAV4s delivered in Australia between now and the fourth quarter of 2019 will need to be taken back to the dealer for a free upgrade if customers want to take up the option.

Mazda has demand for 'about 3000' CarPlay retrofits so far

Remember all that talk about whether Mazda was charging too much for its Apple CarPlay and Android Auto retrofit? It looks like the price is right, because the company has around 3000 people requesting the upgrade. That's according to Alastair Doak, marketing director at Mazda Australia, who today told CarAdvice the company has already re-ordered parts from Japan twice, suggesting demand has exceeded expectations.
