EXCLUSIVE A white HSV Colorado SportsCat SV has become the last vehicle to wear the Holden Special Vehicles badge, as the final example rolled off the Melbourne assembly line late last week, marking the end of a 32-year run for the brand which put its name to more than 92,000 cars. The vehicle, completed on 22 May 2020, has been bought by a Holden dealer in Queensland and is expected to be kept as a collector’s item.

General Motors' million-mile battery is 'almost there'

US car maker General Motors has been working on a battery it claims will last for 1 million miles (1.61 million kilometres) of electric car driving – and the technology is “almost there”, according to the company’s executive vice president. Speaking during an online investor conference earlier in the week, GM’s Doug Parks said the brand was focusing “multiple teams” on the development of its next-generation battery technology, according to news outlet Reuters.

McLaren to mortgage historic car collection to raise funds – report

MORE: All COVID-19 coverage here British F1 and supercar specialist McLaren is looking to borrow between £250 million (AU$465 million) and £275 million (AU$511 million) against its headquarters and historic car collection to see it through decreased profits during the COVID-19 pandemic. The funds are being sought by McLaren and its financial advisers JP Morgan following the rejection of a £150 million (AU$279 million) loan application with the English government, Sky News reports in the UK.
