2021 will be a year of electrification for Volvo, as the brand pledges to have only electric, hybrid and mild-hybrids by the second half of the year.

Along with axing diesel engines completely from their lineup, Volvo is also introducing a more efficient 'B-Series' mild-hybrid range of petrol engines across the range.

While the popular XC40 small SUV has recently received a plug-in hybrid powertrain (along with the XC90 Large SUV), the XC40 P8 Recharge is a fully electric model with a claimed 418 kilometres of range under WLTP testing.

And while buyers are increasingly choosing SUVs over sedans and wagons, the high-riding V60 Cross Country will offer up a niche alternative family car with a dose of ground clearance and off-road potential.
