2020 M8 Competition Gran Coupe pricing and specs
BMW has shared the details of its upcoming 2020 M8 Competition Gran Coupe, a high-performance four-door sports car set to arrive in the second quarter of 2020.
Pricing for the first-ever M8 Competition Gran Coupe will start at $349,900 plus on-road costs, making it $77,000 more expensive than the existing V8 M850i xDrive variant of the 8 Series Gran Coupe.
The M8 Competition Gran Coupe scores an M xDrive all-wheel drive system and an eight-speed torque-converter transmission.
It's paired with a twin-turbocharged V8 engine, putting out 460kW and 750Nm. BMW has kitted the car out with the M Driver's package as standard, which boosts the top speed to 305km/h.
It also boasts a 0-100km/h time of 3.2 seconds, with added X-factor courtesy of an M Sport exhaust system that serves to heighten the M8 Competition's racy engine note.
The newcomer is based on the two-door M8 Competition Coupe, which starts at $352,900 before on-road costs, and was developed alongside the BMW M8 GTE race car.
Inside, luxe accents like velour floor mats, Alcantara accents and full leather upholstery – plus electric roller sun blinds on the rear windscreen and side windows – add to driver and rider comfort.
Other design highlights include 20-inch 'star-spoke' alloy wheels with performance tyres, an M Carbon roof, M Sport seats and an M rear spoiler.
BMW is yet to confirm an exact launch date for the new arrival, so we'll keep you updated.
