Mercedes-Benz recalls A, B, C, E, GLA and GLC
Airbag issue forces major campaign
Mercedes-Benz has recalled almost 22,000 cars across the A-Class, B-Class, C-Class, E-Class, GLA and GLC model lines, over concerns the driver airbag could inflate without warning.
According to the company, electrostatic discharge could trigger the airbag if the steering column isn't sufficiently, or if the column switch module isn't grounded.
Unexpected airbag deployment, obviously, poses a risk of injury to the driver, and could cause an accident.
A total of 21,986 cars are caught in the latest recall. A VIN list is attached here.
Owners will be contacted by Mercedes-Benz, and told to take their car to the nearest dealer for a fix.
