Lexus Australia customers can now access free loan cars when holidaying in New Zealand
Lexus VIP customers can now access a free loan car in Auckland or Queenstown, but spaces are limited.
Owners of Lexus cars in Australia can now access a free loan car when holidaying in New Zealand.
An expansion to the Lexus Encore Platinum ownership program, introduced from this month, means VIP members can access a free loan of a Lexus vehicle four times across the three-year membership period, for up to eight days at a time.
The New Zealand expansion, announced by Lexus in June but revealed by CarAdvice in March, means Lexus Encore Platinum members can avail themselves of an ES sedan when flying into Auckland airport or a Lexus RX SUV out of Queenstown airport – the latter complete with ski racks.
“Platinum members can fly to New Zealand and have a complimentary Lexus waiting for them to borrow for up to eight days at a time,” said Lexus Australia chief executive Scott Thompson.
Lexus spokesperson Tracey Schouten said there would only be one car in each location initially, provided on a first-come, first-served basis. “Members can book the car through their Lexus app. If demand warrants it, we will look at adding additional vehicles at the locations.”
The Lexus Encore program launched in Australia last year.
Buyers of all certain Lexus vehicles receive a three-year subscription to the Lexus Encore program, which includes capped price servicing, service loan cars, partner hotel upgrades and discounted fuel.
