Genesis, the newly separated luxury offshoot of Korean carmaker Hyundai, has released a compelling teaser clip and image for a concept it will unveil at next week’s New York motor show.
Dubbed simply ‘New York Concept’, the new show car is described as a preview of the Genesis brand’s future design direction – a hint that comes less than six months on from the global unveiling of the big new Genesis G90 limousine.
Hyundai has offered little in the way of details for this new “four-door sports sedan”, although it is likely a preview of the anticipated Genesis G70 that will take on premium mid-sizers like the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Audi A4, among others.
“The New York Concept is a progressive concept car that showcases the design quality of the brand. With its expressive volumes and refined design, the New York Concept truly embodies the athletic elegance, which characterizes Genesis products,” said Genesis brand boss Manfred Fitzgerald, a 12-year Lamborghini veteran.
