Dodge farewelled the Viper last year, after almost 26 years of tail-out, terrifying fun. Rather than letting the V10 snake go quietly into the night, 378 dedicated fans paid to send a Viper GTS-R Commemorative Edition ACR to the Nurburgring for a final fang. FoxPro Films was on hand to film the whole thing and, rather than trying to condense all the action into five minutes, turned out a 21-minute documentary.

The Dodge Viper looks like it will end its production run in 2017, if reports about Fiat Chrysler's latest union contract prove to be true. Automobile News has published some select details that it believes are in the latest contract between Fiat Chrysler (FCA) and the United Auto Workers (UAW).

It is not a car that sells here in Australia, but the hand-built Dodge SRT Viper muscle car is nevertheless one that gets local pulses racing even from afar. The same story applies in its home market of the United States, however romantic appeal does not always translate to strong sales, especially if the price is not right.
