Subaru WRX STI Diamond Edition revealed for South Africa

Subaru South Africa has announced the WRX STI Diamond Edition to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Subaru Technica International (STI). Developed by the South African division, the Diamond Edition is the most powerful version of the WRX STI offered globally, retuned to deliver a meaty 349hp (260kW) and 342lb-ft (464Nm). Subaru claims the Diamond Edition will hit 100km/h in 5.03 seconds (compared to 5.76 seconds in the standard car), on its way to a top speed of 255km/h.

Subaru WRX STI S208 revealed for Tokyo motor show

The Subaru WRX STI S208 has been revealed ahead of its premiere at next month's Tokyo motor show, with the limited-run model to be available in Japan from October 25. Based on the WRX STI, the S208 builds on the concept of the 2015 Subaru S207 - which brought a more track-focused exterior and interior specification, and an uprated 241kW/431Nm version of the standard car's 2.0-litre turbo boxer engine.

Subaru Forester tS coming to Australia: STI-tuned SUV locked in for 2016

The Subaru Forester tS - or a version thereof - has been given an official green light for Australia, with a local debut now confirmed for around May or June next year. The news was revealed today by Subaru Australia managing director Nick Senior during an Australian media drive of the new Levorg wagon in Japan.

Subaru separates Impreza from WRX & STI

With the launch of the fourth generation Subaru Impreza, the Japanese company will separate the Impreza model from the WRX and STI variants. Whilst the new 2012 Subaru Impreza naturally aspirated models will go on sale as soon as supply production from Japan is sorted, the WRX and STI variants will continue to be sold in the third generation shape for the forceable future.
