Porsche 911 GT2 RS MR now available in Australia

Australian owners of the Porsche 911 GT2 RS are now able to make their cars even faster around a track, thanks to the folks at Manthey-Racing. Manthey-Racing, creators of the 911 GT2 RS MR that currently holds the Nurburgring lap record for modified production cars, will offer its upgrades to Australian buyers.

Porsche 911 GT2 RS gains Clubsport Package option

Porsche has added a new Clubsport Package to the GT2 RS options list, further burnishing its track-ready nature. The headline addition is a new, FIA-approved steel roll cage where the seats are fitted to more mundane Porsche 911 variants. It's bolted into the chassis behind the front seats, and works with an FIA-approved fire extinguisher and six-point harnesses to make the car more race-friendly.

McLaren 720S v Porsche GT2 RS drag race - video

The McLaren 720S and Porsche 911 GT2 RS are two of the fastest supercars on the market right now – but which one is quicker in a straight line? A new video posted on YouTube by Motorsport Magazine aims to answer that question, pitting Britain against Germany in a winner-takes-all drag race. Power in the McLaren comes from a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 making 530kW of power and 770Nm of torque, while the Porsche makes 515kW and 750Nm from its twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre flat six.

Porsche 911 GT2 RS sets Nürburgring lap record

The Porsche 911 GT2 RS is the new king of the 'Ring, lapping the famed Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit in 6 minutes 47.3 seconds. Not only is it the fastest 911 of all time, the GT2 RS is also the quickest production vehicle around the 'Ring - some five seconds quicker than the Lamborghini Huracan Performante (6 minutes 52.01 seconds) and a whole 10 seconds quicker than Porsche's own manic 918 Spyder hybrid hypercar (6 minutes 57 seconds).

Porsche GT2 RS revealed at Goodwood Festival of Speed

Porsche has chosen the 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed for the public unveiling of the most powerful street-legal 911 of all time. Powered by a 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat-six engine delivering a staggering 515kW of power and 750Nm of torque, the new 911 GT2 RS will accelerate from 0-100km/h in 2.8 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 340km/h.
