Hyundai i30 N Project C teased

Hyundai is readying a lighter, more focused take on its i30 N Performance for the Frankfurt motor show, complete with a raft of previously-teased add-ons. The 'unique specification' will include carbon-fibre reinforced plastic parts and racier 19-inch alloy wheels, designed to make the Project C 'notably lighter' than the (slightly porky) standard car – which tips the scales at 1429kg.

2018 Hyundai i30 N pricing and specs

Australian pricing and specifications for the 2018 Hyundai i30 N have been announced this week, ahead of a mid-April arrival. Starting from $39,990 before on-road costs, the Korean manufacturer's first hot hatch dips below the magical $40,000 barrier, and comes standard with the higher-output 202kW/353Nm version (378Nm on overboost) of Hyundai's 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine.

Hyundai i30 N to offer eight-speed dual-clutch for 2019

When Hyundai’s all-new i30 N hot-hatch arrives here in December, it will be a six-speed manual transmission, exclusively. Hyundai is banking on a reasonable take up of the stick shift by enthusiast drivers before an auto option is available in around two years, according to Hyundai Australia Senior Manager Product Planning, Andrew Tuitahi.
