Honda Australia expands Takata recall - UPDATE

Honda has issued a recall for 25,284 of its previous-generation Accord, Accord Euro, Civic, City, Jazz, Insight and Legend models as part of the ongoing Takata airbag campaign. As with all recalls brought on by the global Takata recall, affected vehicles could see the airbag inflator rupture upon deployment in the event of an accident.

Honda Australia is recalling a total of 21,752 vehicles across four key models as the fallout continues from a widespread fault related to airbags manufactured by Japanese auto parts company Takata. Already affecting millions of vehicles from a gamut of manufacturers worldwide, the latest addition to the Takata airbag recall includes 8233 CR-Vs, 5908 Jazzs, 5106 Honda Accord Euros and 2505 Civics, all built between 2003-2004.

Honda Accord: large sedan now under $30,000

Honda Australia has announced a significant price reduction for its Honda Accord range. The price of the entry-level Accord VTi has dropped $4300 to $28,190 or $29,990 driveaway. Specifications are unchanged, meaning the large sedan keeps its 133kW/226Nm 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine and five-speed automatic transmission.

2003-08 Honda Accord Euro recall - 45,524 cars affected

Honda Australia has recalled more than 45,000 Honda Accord Euro models over an issue with the power steering hose that has the potential to start a fire under the bonnet. In total, 45,524 first-generation Accord Euro vehicles have been recalled. Affected vehicles were sold in Australia between June 2003 and June 2008. The official recall notice published on the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission website states:
