Formula E reveals Gen 2 Evo car for 2020

Formula E has updated its Gen 2 racer for its upcoming season, with a range of body add-ons designed to make for a more attractive grid. The EVO will be revealed at the Geneva motor show, and features a new front wing, a new fin behind the driver, and a fresh rear wing. Unlike Formula 1, where teams invest millions developing their own aerodynamics packages, the entire Formula E grid has the same bodywork fitted to their cars.

Formula E: How electric racing is improving your tyres

Formula E hasn't been around long. It's only five years old, certainly not since the beginning of motoring, but lessons from the electric single-seat series are already sneaking onto the school run. Michelin has been on board with Formula E since day one, developing the Pilot Sport EV (generation one cars) and now the Pilot Sport for the growing category, and says it's already transferred tech from the e-prix circuit into its production tyres.

Professional drifter takes on autonomous racer - video

Formula E isn't the only race series with its sights set on transforming the world of motorsport. The fully-autonomous Roborace category is aiming to take the focus off humans and put it onto self-driving technology with a futuristic, sci-fi inspired racer.

Roborace pits self-driving racer against human driver in Hong Kong

Autonomous racing series, Roborace, has put its self-driving prototype to the test against a human driver around the streets of Hong Kong. The comparison was run at the first Formula E race for the 2o17/18 season. Representing the robot revolution (or pending armageddon, depending on how you look at it) was DevBot, a bits-and-pieces prototype used to hone the software which will eventually power series entrants.
