UPDATE, 11 May 2021: Ford has officially confirmed the electric F-150 will wear the Lightning name, with a global reveal set for 20 May 2021, at 11:30am AEST. In a statement, Ford president and CEO Jim Farley said: "Every so often, a new vehicle comes along that disrupts the status quo and changes the game … Model T, Mustang, Prius, Model 3. Now comes the F-150 Lightning,"

Ford and Tesla promise helping hands in storm-struck Texas

US-based automotive manufacturers Ford and Tesla have announced plans to deliver relief in storm-struck Texas. The ongoing crisis – caused by a multitude of factors including frozen gas lines – has reportedly left more than 4.3 million homes and businesses across the state without power. Following public recommendations from CEO Jim Farley, Ford officially requested its dealers allocate select variants of the F-150 pick-up truck for "loaner fleets."

UPDATE, 26 January 2021: The 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor will be offered as standard with a turbocharged V6, overseas reports have confirmed. Screenshots of an internal dealer system published on the F150Gen14.com forum reveal a version of the outgoing F-150 Raptor's 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged V6 will be standard-fit on the new, Model Year 2021 Raptor.

The fully-electric Ford F-150 is still coming to North American showrooms, it just won't be until 2022. That's according to Ford COO Jim Farley, revealing details about the F-Series launch in an interview with American broadcaster CNBC.

Ford is getting ready to reveal an all-electric version of the best-selling vehicle in the USA, the F-150, and it's revealed a teaser to make previous electric stunts look a bit pedestrian. Tesla towed a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, and Mini pulled a Boeing 777F cargo plane, but Ford has one-upped them all with one million pounds (453 tonnes) worth of train carriages.
