Video: Mercedes-AMG GT R Black Series teased

Mercedes-AMG has teased the upcoming GT R Black Series with a video released on YouTube. Featuring a cameo from YouTuber Shmee150, the short video gives us a glimpse of the limited edition flagship model from the German performance car brand. The 2021 Mercedes-AMG GT R Black Series is expected to be a step-up from the GT R Pro, which itself uses a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 putting out 430kW/700Nm via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

AMG rules out hypercar and hybrids

Mercedes-Benz AMG has confirmed a successor to the SLS Gullwing and roadster exists, but it has ruled out building a more expensive hypercar to rival the LaFerrari, Porsche 918 and McLaren P1. Rumours persist that Mercedes-Benz will replace the three-year-old SLS in 2015 with two separate models – a smaller coupe to fill the void between C63 coupe and SLS, and a larger, more expensive hyper-car.
