Updated Toyota Prius C revealed
Japanese brand refreshes its smallest hybrid.
Toyota has upgraded its Yaris-sized hybrid with fresh tech and tweaked styling.
The Japanese car making giant has added navigation to both models in the two-tier Prius C range along with a new 4.2-inch digital information display.
Toyota has given both models a modest to minimal price rise with the base Prius C now costing $590 more at $24,040 before on-road costs and the top of the range Prius C i-Tech now costs $30 more at $26,540.
Styling updates for the Prius C extend to a larger front grille with chrome elements, a new front bumper and modified bonnet, fresh headlights, 15-inch alloy wheels and fenders. Toyota has also stretched the Prius C, which is now 55mm longer.
Inside the tiny hybrid now sports a new steering wheel, re-designed centre console design and unfortunately Toyota has ditched the full-size spare for a space-saver temporary tyre.
The petrol-electric hybrid system is made up of a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine coupled with a 45kW electric motor that produces a combined 74kW and 111Nm which is paired to a CVT automatic transmission. Toyota claims a combined fuel use of 3.9L/100km.
Toyota has also added two new exterior paint options; a yellow and blue.
