Toyota is giving one of its upcoming C-HR small SUVs the motorsport treatment, with help from Gazoo Racing.
The new racing crossover will then head to Germany’s famed Nurburgring, where it will participate in the 24-Hour endurance event.
The racer’s appearance is said to be closer to the road-going model than that of the C-HR concept, with the latter making its debut at the 2014 Paris Motor Show and reappearing last year in updated form in Frankfurt (pictured, below).
Toyota said it chose the C-HR to compete over a more recognisable ‘sports’ model to deepen the challenge that a 24-Hour race represents. The carmaker is racing the crossover to 'hone our team members and the cars".
