Tata Nexon revealed for Indian market
Indian manufacturer Tata Motors will launch a new compact crossover, dubbed the Nexon, in the coming months.
The model went on show at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi, ahead of a market debut in the coming months.
On the styling front, the Nexon features a curvy wraparound grille and headlight design, joined by LED daytime lights at the front, while the rear gets LED taillights and a black faux diffuser.
There are grey and black accents on the roof, pillars, wheel arches and side skirts, contrasting against silver touches around lights and door sills.
The Nexon joins a rapidly expanding small SUV segment in India, pitting itself against the likes of Mahindra’s new TUV300, the Ford EcoSport and the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.
Under the bonnet, buyers can pick from a 1.2 litre turbocharged petrol engine or a 1.5l turbo-diesel delivering 80kW and 192 Nm.
The baby high-rider will have its power sent to the front wheels only via a six speed manual transmission.
The Nexon is expected to be offered exclusively in India, although Tata has confirmed a number of times that it is looking to expand its global offerings. Read more at the links below.
