MINI has revealed new details of its fastest-ever production model, the new John Cooper Works GP, bringing new levels of power and performance to the table.
Driven by a 160kW and 260Nm version of the Cooper's 1.6 litre turbocharged engine, the new JCW GP edges out the 156kW output of its GP predecessor.
A torque boost to 280Nm is available during acceleration and a six-speed manual transmission gets it all to the ground, driving through the front wheels.
In this configuration, the JCW GP can be roosted to 100km/h in 6.3 seconds. And in fifth gear, the GP will scoot from 80 to 120km/h in 5.9 seconds.
MINI says the new GP has lapped the famed Nurburgring in eight minutes and 23 seconds, making it some 19 seconds quicker than the earlier GP.
