Mercedes-Benz GL-Class Grand Edition under consideration for Australia
Mercedes-Benz has announced a new specification for its GL-Class, the Grand Edition. The company says that it has the same level of comfort and spaciousness as Mercedes-Benz's own S-Class, and judging by the pics, Merc is on the money.
Headlining the list of features is new two-tone leather for the redesigned seats. Nappa leather is optional, and there's piping and contrast stitching on each seat.
The door trims are also redesigned with what Mercedes-Benz calls "double-lapped felling" which also features on the armrests and dashboard instrument panel as well as black ash trim and a wood/leather steering wheel. Of course, the real advantage of the GL-Class over the S-Class is it is a true seven seater. Oh, and it'll go off road, too.
Outside is and a redesigned front end, including a new bumper and gloss black inserts feature extensively on the grille. There's dark tinted headlamps as well as LED daytime running lights.
Rounding out the package are 20-inch grey metallic wheels with 275/50 R20 tyres. It all adds up to a mean looking machine.
Speaking with CarAdvice today, Mercedes-Benz Australia's David McCarthy said that while the Grand Edition hasn't been confirmed for Australia as yet, it's a definite possibility.
