2024 Polestar 5 electric sedan teased, likely destined for Australia

The upcoming electric four-door will be built for right-hand drive markets, likely including Australia.

The upcoming Polestar 5 electric four-door sedan has been teased, ahead of its planned reveal in 2024.

The newest image shows a prototype of the new model – which is an evolution of the Volvo subsidiary's ‘Precept’ car – believed to preview the design of the production model. The car is all-but-certain to be built in China.

Differences between the Precept concept and new image include conventional rear doors with pop-out handles, reworked rear fascia, and new alloy wheels with yellow brake calipers.

A spokesperson for Polestar in Australia told Drive: “Polestar 5 is scheduled for production in 2024 so market launch details will be confirmed in due course, but we would obviously love to see the Polestar 5 on Australian roads.”

Given right-hand-drive research and development is currently underway for the model in the United Kingdom, it’s highly likely the vehicle will be sold Down Under. However, this is yet to be officially confirmed.

The Polestar 5 is slated for launch in 2024, with specifications and pricing to be announced closer to launch.

Currently, the marque offers one model: the Polestar 2 high-riding sedan (shown above).
