2024 Hyundai Ioniq 7 electric SUV spied in Europe
The new electric seven-seater SUV from Hyundai has been caught on camera ahead of its unveiling in the coming months.
The 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 7 has again been spied as the electric SUV undergoes on-road testing in Germany.
Hyundai has an engineering test facility located at the famous Nurburgring circuit, though it was on public roads where the Ioniq 7 was caught on camera by Drive's European spy photography partners.
The Ioniq 7 will be the production version of the Seven concept, first shown at the Los Angeles motor show almost two years ago to the day.
Despite the heavy vinyl camouflage, the strips of car that are showing reveal the production version of the Ioniq 7 will feature black plastic cladding on the exterior, integrated into the wheel arch opening.
Based on Hyundai's E-GMP electric-vehicle platform, the Ioniq 7 is essentially a twin to the Kia EV9, already on sale in Australia.
While Hyundai hasn't announced details of the Ioniq 7 at this early stage, the company has said the seven-seater electric SUV will have a driving range of more than 483 kilometres – suggesting it could come with the EV9's optional 99.8kWh extended-range battery pack, powering dual electric motors.
In the EV9, the dual electric motors produce a combined 283kW and 700Nm, powering all four wheels.
The 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 7 is expected to be unveiled early in the new year, though there's no confirmation yet of an Australian launch.
