Details of Australian pricing and features for the 2016 Mazda CX-9 have been leaked online, suggesting drive-away pricing that will begin at $49,000 and top out at $71,500.
Due to go on sale in Australia from July, the CX-9 will be available locally in both front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations with a single 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine.
The engine is set to produce 170kW of power and 420Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
According to this latest leaked information, the new 2016 CX-9 will be offered in four specification levels: Sport, Touring, GT and Azami.
Drive-away pricing starts from $49,000 for the front-wheel-drive Sport, moves to $56,500 for the front-wheel-drive Touring, $64,500 for the front-wheel GT and $67,500 for the GT Azami. Each model can be had with an all-wheel drive system for an additional $4000.
To give you an indication of the pre-on-roads cost, we expect each model to list for around $4000 less than the drive-away price, making the MLRP pricing around $45,000, $52,500, $60,500 and $63,500 respectively for the Sport, Touring, GT and Azami respectively.

The brochure claims that the CX-9 will consume a miserly 8.4L/100km on the combined cycle for front-wheel drive models and 8.8L/100km on the combined cycle for all-wheel-drive models.
As we covered earlier, the CX-9 will launch with a heap of safety technology to help set it apart from other SUVs in this segment.
Additionally, the document also suggests the CX-9 will offer far better performance than the outgoing model. It suggests the front-wheel drive CX-9 will dash from 0-100km/h in 8.2 seconds (in comparison to the outgoing model's 9.9 seconds), while the all-wheel drive comes in at a slower 8.6 seconds (in comparison to the outgoing model's 10.1 seconds).
