Next-generation Mercedes-Benz S-Class to retain V12 option - report

The mighty V12 will survive another day. Or, more accurately, for another generation of Mercedes-Benz S-Class. Daimler CEO Ola Källenius told GTSpirit the redesigned 2021 S-Class will retain its range-topping V12 engine. In Australia, Mercedes-Benz only offers its M279 twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre V12 in the Mercedes-Maybach S650. In that application, it produces 463kW and a towering 1000Nm.

There, he jumped into his waiting previous-generation Mercedes-Benz S600 Pullman Guard. He and his entourage have been photographed in other Mercedes-Benz S-Class vehicles during his trips to Hanoi, Singapore and the Korean DMZ.
