2017 Land Rover Discovery scores five-star ANCAP rating, despite head contact risk - UPDATE

The 2017 Land Rover Discovery has been awarded a full five-star safety rating by independent crash-testing authority ANCAP this week. Following the Discovery's New Zealand release in May and in advance of its Australian market launch this week, ANCAP has released the SUV's crash ratings based on tests conducted by its European equivalent, Euro NCAP.

2018 Seat Arona goes official in Barcelona

The 2018 Seat Arona has been officially revealed in its home market of Spain this week, slotting below the larger Ateca in the company's line-up. Takata files for bankruptcy, will be purchased by competitor

Takata, the troubled airbag and automotive parts maker, has filed for bankruptcy in both the US and Japan. The company's American arm filed its papers on Sunday night, US time, in the state of Delaware, with the Japanese parent following suit on Monday, local time. As part of the bankruptcy, US-based Key Safety Systems, which owned by Ningbo Joyson Electronic of China, will purchase most of Takata's assets for around 175 billion yen ($2.1 billion).
