It’s not like Ferrari needs the hype, given the fact that if you want a brand new 458 Italia, you’ll probably be waiting a year or two at best before finally getting the keys to your very own prancing horse.
Ferrari’s peerless 458 Italia is fast becoming the most awarded supercar in automotive history, with a raft of awards already in the can, including Car magazine’s “Performance Car of the Year”, Top Gear Magazine’s “Supercar of the Year”, Fifth Gear’s “Fast Car of the Year” and “Car of the Year” and GQ Magazine’s “Supercar of the Year”.
The UK’s Daily Telegraph has just handed it another coveted award in the guise of “Car of the Year”. Head of Motoring for the Daily Telegraph summed it up perfectly in his description of the car and its win:
“The 458 Italia wins because of the pure driving pleasure it delivers – to drivers of all abilities. It flatters your driving while involving you fully in the experience. Despite its towering performance there are many faster cars, but the 458’s astounding levels of tactility and refinement clinch it. It has almost telepathic steering, superbly linear major controls, and looks (and sounds) to die for. Hell, it’s even comfortable.”
