Rumours and reports say the new BMW i8 will offer a fairly new proposition to the market in terms of a hybrid sports car. It will feature a small petrol-powered three-cylinder motor and two electric motors adding up to a tantalising cocktail. Reports say the sleek coupe will offer around 240kW of power and an enormous 800Nm of torque - mainly thanks to the two electric motors.
The car should be capable of breaking through the five-second barrier during 0-100km/h sprints and have a potential top speed beyond 250km/h when it arrives on the market during 2013. Check out the video below for a bit of a sneak peek. We'll be sure to bring plenty more updates on this one as they arrive.
