2011 Holden Cruze hatchback patent images revealed

The European patent office, OHIM, has been submitted with images of the new Holden Cruze hatchback, showing minimal changes to the show car we saw in September.

Apart from the bumper being slightly redesigned to take foglamps instead of daytime running lights, and a slightly smoother appearance, the car remains faithful to Holden Chief Designer Richard Ferlazzo's original vision.

“Hatchbacks play a critical role in many markets. For instance, the total compact segment in Europe represents around 4.8 million units which is over a quarter of the total market, with hatchbacks representing around 65% of that volume,” Wayne Brannon, president and managing director of Chevrolet Europe said.

Europe will get the Cruze Hatchback first, around the middle of next year, with Australian production to start late next year.
