2021 Mini Cooper price and specs
Opening the line-up is the trio of Cooper models, available in all three body styles, and three equipment grades: Classic, Classic Plus and Mini Yours.
All Cooper models are powered by 1.5-litre turbo petrol three-cylinder engines, sending 100kW and 220Nm to the front wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. 0-100km/h times vary from 8.2 to 8.8 seconds, while combined fuel use claims span from 5.6 to 6.0L/100km.
Standard equipment on the Classic includes LED headlights and tail-lights, cloth/leatherette seat trim, an 8.8-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay, a 5.0-inch digital instrument display, a Piano Black interior, reversing camera, front and rear parking sensors, automatic parking, wireless phone charging, and Mini logo puddle light projection.
There's also 16-inch alloy wheels, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, plus an array of personalisation options. The Convertible model also adds a wind deflector.
Stepping up to the Classic Plus adds 17-inch alloy wheels, seven available exterior colours, leatherette sports seats, keyless entry, front seat heating, a panoramic sunroof, Harman/Kardon premium sound system, and Sport, Mid and Green drive modes.
The flagship Mini Yours grade adds a choice of 17- or 18-inch alloy wheels, a nappa leather steering wheel, Carbon Black 'lounge' leather interior, anthracite headlining, Chequered Silver interior trim inlays, ambient interior lighting, and Mini Yours floor mats and badging.
2021 Mini Cooper S price and specs
Three Cooper S variants will be offered – Classic, Mini Yours and JCW Sport – across all three body styles.
All are powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, routing 141kW and 280Nm to the front wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, for 0-100km/h times of 6.7 to 7.1 seconds, and combined fuel economy ratings of 5.8 to 6.3L/100km.
Standard equipment on the Cooper S Classic is carried over all but unchanged from the Cooper Classic, though it adds 17-inch alloy wheels as standard, Piano Black exterior detailing, leatherette sports seats, a nappa leather steering wheel, keyless entry, and three drive modes.
When compared to the Cooper S Classic, the Cooper S Mini Yours adds 17- or 18-inch alloy wheels, Chester or Lounge leather upholstery, unique floor mats, anthracite headlining, a panoramic sunroof, sun protection glazing, a head-up display, Harman/Kardon sound system, ambient interior lighting, Mini Yours badging, and connected Concierge Services.
Meanwhile, over the base Cooper S Classic, the flagship Cooper S JCW Sport adds a unique 17-inch alloy wheel design, a JCW exterior styling package, adaptive dampers, suede/leather JCW sports seats, a panoramic sunroof (hatch models only), ambient lighting, a head-up display, Harman/Kardon sound system, Concierge Serivices, and sun protection glazing.
2021 Mini John Cooper Works price and specs
Three variants of the John Cooper Works (JCW) – the hottest models in the Mini range – are on offer, across 3-Door Hatch and Convertible body styles only.
Power comes from a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, sending 170kW and 320Nm to the front wheels through an eight-speed torque-converter automatic transmission with launch control. A six-speed manual can be specified as a no-cost option.
The 0-100km/h sprint is covered in 6.1 or 6.5 seconds for the hatch and convertible respectively, while combined fuel use claims sit at 6.3 and 6.5L/100km.
Opening the JCW range is the price-focused Essential model, which shares the Cooper S Classic's LED lights, an 8.8-inch infotainment display, 5.0-inch instrument cluster, adaptive cruise control, a wind deflector on convertible models, and more.
Additional items over the Cooper S Classic include unique 17-inch wheels, fixed sports suspension, JCW Sport brakes, anthracite headlining, and suede/leather JCW sports seats.
However, the JCW Essential loses the Cooper S Classic's adaptive cruise control (replacing it with a manual system, albeit with braking functionality), puddle light projection, and Piano Black interior.
Stepping up to the John Cooper Works Classic adds (over the Essential) 18-inch alloy wheels, adaptive dampers, puddle light projection, leather 'Cross Punch' sports seats with heating, a Piano Black interior, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, Harman/Kardon sound system, a head-up display, and Concierge Services.
The flagship John Cooper Works Mini Yours variant adds adaptive LED lighting, Chester or Lounge leather upholstery with matching interior trim, a panoramic sunroof, and sun protection glazing.
2021 Mini Cooper SE (Electric) price and specs
Two all-electric Mini Cooper SE variants are on offer (Classic and Mini Yours), available solely in 3-Door Hatch guise.
Both grades are powered by a 135kW/270Nm electric motor on the front axle, connected to a 32.6kWh lithium-ion battery for a 7.3-second 0-100km/h sprint time, and a 233km driving range.
DC fast charging at up to 50kW allows for a zero to 80 per cent recharge in 36 minutes. 7.4kW and 11kW AC charging speeds are also available.
The Cooper SE Classic's standard equipment levels are based on the Cooper S Classic, including 17-inch alloy wheels, LED exterior lighting, an 8.8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay, 5.0-inch instrument display, Piano Black exterior and interior, reversing camera, parking sensors, wireless phone charging, keyless entry, nappa leather steering wheel, leatherette sports seats, and more.

However, the Cooper SE adds front seat heating, and an Electric-specific Green+ driving mode.
The range-topping Cooper SE Mini Yours adds five unique 17-inch alloy wheel designs, anthracite headlining, ambient interior lighting, Chester or Lounge leather upholstery with floor mats, a panoramic sunroof, sun protection glazing, a Harman/Kardon sound system, and a head-up display – matching the equivalent Cooper S Mini Yours.
The 2021 Mini Hatch and Convertible range will go on sale locally in the third quarter of 2021.
