Also along for the ride was the German industrialist, Michael Stoschek, the lucky guy who funded the project and owner of the car. They both seemed pleased with the car, with di Montezemolo saying 'bellissima' (attractive). It seems di Montezemolo isn't shy when it comes to serious performance cars either, giving the Stratos quite a hit around the track. (Dario Benuzzi - chief test driver of Ferrari - also tagged along with di Montezemolo, seen in very first shot).
The Lancia Stratos is powered by a Ferrari 4.3-litre V8 borrowed from the Ferrari F430. The chassis and platform of the new Stratos is also taken from the Ferrari F430. Complete with carbon fibre panels and a body weighing in at around 1200kg, the Stratos would showcase a better power-to-weight ratio could even be quicker from point to point than the Italian stablemate.Unfortunately, there's no plans for this car to go into production.
