Around the tracks: A Subaru stretch limo, and wild Tesla dash cam footage

Plus, a man gives away 40 free cars, a pick-up truck explodes and a soothing pastel Porsche video.

When we’re not creating it ourselves, the CarAdvice team spends a lot of time finding and consuming motoring content from all over the world.

Here’s a handful of the photos, articles, videos or social media posts that most caught our eye last week. Some of them are brand new, others have been online for a while.

Enjoy them – just not too much, okay?

1. Tesla dash cam highlights

With their on-board cameras – used either as dash cameras or security cameras in Sentry mode – it's not uncommon for Tesla cars to be used to solve crimes, resolve insurance disputes and identify vandals and thieves.

YouTube channel Wham Baam Teslacam regularly compiles footage from Tesla owners into regular reels showcasing some of the worst driver behaviour known to man.

Its latest video features everything from hit-and-run accidents to some dodgy car park behaviour. It makes for strangely mesmerising viewing.

2. This hilarious, home-made Subaru stretch 'limo'

If you're yet to discover the Facebook group 'Like photoshop, but with welding', allow us to introduce you.

According to the page description, "If it looks like it shouldn’t be together, but is, this is where it belongs".

Consider it a home for the weird and wonderful automotive concoctions we love to hate, or hate to love.

This week, it unearthed a gem in the form of a modified Subaru Outback that was turned into a "limo" for a bachelor party.

The original poster wrote the following of the car: "Couple of my buddies built this limo in a few evenings just to use for a bachelor party. Everything works and they even managed to keep it AWD. Car also made it in Road & Track Magazine, they are supposed to do an update destroying it."

It's just... beautiful.

3. This insane video of a man giving away 40 cars for free

YouTube seems to have a wealth of users who are young, rich, endlessly inventive and who apparently have a lot of time on their hands.

YouTuber 'Mr Beast' is one of these people – the American man has amassed 43.7 million YouTube subscribers thanks to his mad-cap videos, in which he performs strangely engrossing social stunts.

Take, for example, his latest video – in which he celebrates his 40 millionth subscriber by finding them and giving them 40 cars for free.

But it doesn't end there – rather than keeping the cars, the subscriber is encouraged to give them all away within 24 hours in order to keep a custom-wrapped Tesla Model 3.

The cars range from brand-new to used, from Jeep to Porsche, and from manual to automatic.

Naturally, the subscriber – who is a 17-year-old high school student – calls everyone he's ever met and offers them a free car. It's impossible to look away and an engrossing insight into the insane world of YouTube.

4. This terrifying footage of a modified pick-up truck exploding

Let's get one thing straight – explosion videos are only fun to watch if no one gets hurt.

Thankfully, in this recent incident in Utah, everyone escaped unharmed save for some minor scratches.

The footage was captured during an event called 'Weekend on the Edge', a so-called "celebration of all things diesel".

The pick-up truck in question was from a US company called Industrial Injection Performance and it boasts a 6.7-litre Cumminstriple-turbo diesel engine.

At the event, the team behind the car – which is called the "Master Shredder" – were trying to break their previous record of generating 2920hp on the dynamometer by adding even more nitrous oxide into the mix.

Alas, their quest to hit 3000hp ended in disaster – and lots of flames. You can watch the video below.

5. This soothing video of a green Porsche 911 F cruising into a fairytale

If all the explosions and bad driving featured above have left you strung out and stressed, decompress by watching this visually stunning video of a 911 in wonderland.

Those sunset colours and that setting are enough to soothe even the most anxious of individuals...
