This is what the new Hyundai Santa Cruz pick-up could look like, according an artist impression by a Russian website.
Using a photo of the bare shell of the Hyundai Santa Cruz that appeared online a fortnight ago, the website Kolesa.ru has created a computer generated image of what it imagines the showroom version could look like.
These computer illustrations by Kolesa.ru have taken a punt on the Hyundai Santa Cruz sharing some of the design themes from the new Hyundai Santa Fe family SUV.
The Hyundai Santa Cruz bodywork also debuts a new design direction for Hyundai, with pronounced wedges along its flanks.
Similar styling accents also appeared on the concept car that was a hint to the appearance of the next generation Hyundai Tucson.
The Russian website makes it clear that these images are from its own imagination, but starting with the correct bodywork (pictured below) has given the outlet a big head start.
While the Hyundai Santa Cruz is likely to go on sale in the US some time next year, a heavy-duty body-on-frame double cab ute for Australia is still some time away.
Given the time it takes to go from concept to reality, we expect the jointly developed Hyundai and Kia challenger to the Toyota HiLux is still at least three to four years away from local showrooms.
