There's been no word on the powerplant details at this stage. Reports say that it will be an electric vehicle of some description, most likely matching the drivetrain of the Audi e-Tron Concept (coupe) that debuted at the Detroit Show earlier this year.
Not many details of the coupe were released either only that the electric motor would be capable of outputting an almost-ridiculous 4500Nm of torque from its 'E-engine'.
Some reports say that this Spyder version will go into production in 2012 but say it will have a limited run of just 1000 units.
Well, who wouldn't mind a convertible that whips out 4500Nm and drinks no petrol? We suspect these will sell very fast and only be sold in Europe. If it makes production that is.
