The new, hotter 718 Cayman GT4 RS has been snapped again, this time moving fast on the track.

Porsche's upcoming 718 Cayman GT4 RS has been snapped again, this time being put through its paces on the track.

Launched this year, the new GT4 Cayman won plenty of fans with its naturally-aspirated engine and balanced handling. But more is more in the world of Porsche, and there's clearly more to be extracted from the 718 GT4 package.

Compared to the already-hot GT4, the RS has gained what looks like a carbon-fibre bonnet with NACA ducts, a hallmark of GT3 RS models with the Weissach Package.

There are also air vents cut into the rear three-quarter window, presumably feeding more air into that hungry mid-mounted flat-six engine, and the air intakes on the car's flanks look larger.

But the biggest change is still the wing. It's unlikely to carry over to production with those chunky uprights, but expect to see a more aggressive, taller rear wing on the RS than the regular GT4.

The rear diffuser and exhaust appears to carry over from the GT4, while the wheels and brakes are likely to be larger and wider than those of the GT4.

Expect to see a more powerful take on the naturally-aspirated flat-six from the GT4. It's offered with a six-speed manual or seven-speed PDK, but we'd suggest the RS could be PDK-only.

Given the long development period for the regular GT4, we'd suggest the RS won't be revealed for a while – the end of 2020 shapes as one potential marker.
