2020 Range Rover Velar pricing and specs

Land Rover Australia has drastically cut the number of Range Rover Velar models on offer locally, as JLR looks to simplify its line-up.

Launched with a whopping 64 different variants, the 2020 Velar will be available in just 13 different flavours, headlined by the supercharged V8 Velar P550 SVAutobiography Dynamic.

Rather than being able to spec every engine variant in S, SE and HSE trims, Range Rover will only offer the base petrol and diesel models in 'S' guise, the mid-spec powertrains in 'SE' guise, and top-grade cars with 'HSE' equipment levels. The R-Dynamic package will be optional across the range.

Seven engines are available, ranging from the 132kW D180 four-cylinder diesel and 184kW P250 four-pot petrol to the range-topping P550 with its 405kW supercharged V8.

Specification changes to the Velar line-up are minor for 2020. Keyless entry is standard range-wide, there's a new grey colour on offer, and the infotainment system now gets DAB+ digital radio and smartphone mirroring standard.

Options are still abound. The range is available with a 'Premium Interior Upgrade Pack' ($4705 on S, $3690 on SE, $3235 on HSE) with more upmarket cabin materials, and a 'Technology Package' ($8960 on S, $5840 elsewhere) with Matrix LED headlights, a head-up display, and a solar attenuating windscreen.

Other options packages include the 'Dynamic Handling Pack', the 'Driver Assist Pack', a 'Convenience Pack' and the 'Cold Climate Pack'.
