Porsche has taken the wraps off its fastest Cayenne ever, with pricing announced for the top-specification Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid and Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid Coupe.

Kicking off from $288,000 before on-road costs, the Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid adds a plug-in hybrid drivetrain to the Cayenne chassis to propel it from 0-100km/h in just 3.8 seconds, on to a top speed of 295km/h.

Despite featuring the same drivetrain, acceleration figures and top speed, the sleeker Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid Coupe costs an additional $4700, bringing the asking price up to $292,700 before on-roads.

Powering the Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid is a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged petrol V8 engine making 404kW of power and 770Nm of torque. Supplementing that punchy V8 engine is a 100kW electric motor producing 400Nm of torque.

Combined, the hybrid drivetrain outputs 500kW of power and 900Nm of torque, with the ability to travel up to 40km alone on electric power only.

Charging comes in the form of an on-board AC charger capable of drawing up to 7.2kW of power to charge its 14.1kWh battery. Charging from empty to full takes 2.4 hours at maximum charging speed. It all adds up to a combined fuel economy of 3.9L/100km (NEDC).

In addition to standard equipment offered on the Cayenne Turbo, all Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid models include:

  • Electric motor with max output 100kW
  • Parking pre-climate
  • Sport Chrono Package
  • Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB)
  • PTV (Porsche Torque Vectoring) Plus
  • Power Steering Plus

  • Surround View
  • Privacy glass

  • Lane Change Assist
  • 4-zone climate control
