Aston Martin has revealed six Vantage Heritage Racing Editions for the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend, each finished in a livery honouring a race car from the company’s motorsport history.
UPDATE, 8/9/19: Aston Martin’s local division has confirmed the Vantage Heritage Racing Edition will be available to customers in Australia and New Zealand. See bottom of article for details.
Developed by the ‘Q by Aston Martin’ bespoke division, the Vantage Heritage Racing Editions will be limited to just 60 units in total, and feature a new aero package as standard equipment – though the add-ons are now available on all Vantages.
According to the British marque, the new aero package, which includes a carbon-fibre rear wing, dive planes and an extended front splitter, adds an additional 194 kilograms of downforce when the Vantage is travelling at 190mph (305.7km/h).
All of the Heritage Racing Edition models also get the sports plus package (sports steering wheel, sports seats), carbon fibre interior trim, and lightweight alloy wheels.
This year marks 60 years since the company went 1-2 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and 70 years since it first raced at the Goodwood motor circuit.
Each livery is inspired by an iconic race car in Aston Martin’s motorsport history – which is as old as the company itself.
Vehicles acknowledged with the various team colours include the 1923 Aston Martin Razor Blade (silver and green), the 1935 Aston Martin Ulster (red), the Aston Martin DB3S (green and yellow), the 2007 Aston Martin DBR9 (Gulf livery), the Aston Martin AMR1 (white, blue and red) and the Aston Martin Vantage GTE (lime and green).
Speaking with CarAdvice, Aston Martin’s local division confirmed availability of the Vantage Heritage Racing Edition, though couldn’t specify pricing for our market.
“The Vantage Heritage Racing Editions are available to purchase in Australia and New Zealand, there are 60 available globally,” a spokesperson told CarAdvice.
“Pricing for AU is to be confirmed for both the Vantage Heritage Racing Editions and the Vantage Aero Kits.”
