2020 BMW M2 CS spied
The new M2 CS is shaping up to be a pretty mean little beast, with more power from its inline six and the full array of M carbon gear.
The leanest, meanest BMW M2 has been snapped during testing, revealing its mean stance and subtle bodywork add-ons.
It looks like the M2 CS will get a carbon-fibre bonnet with a pronounced bulge, along with mirror caps, a roof, and body additions made of the lightweight weave.
The subtle boot lid spoiler will likely be made of carbon, as on the M3 CS. It looks like a gurney flap, in keeping with its bigger brother, although that's subject to change before launch.
Power is expected to come from an uprated version of the Competition's 3.0-litre twin-turbo inline-six, making somewhere in the vicinity of 335kW.
A six-speed manual is expected to be stock, while a seven-speed dual-clutch auto could be an option.
Like the M4 CS, we'd bank on things like carbon door cards, a pared-back centre console, lighter bucket seats and a louder exhaust than the models sitting below it in the range.
Those wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres are nicked from the M4. Those are very sticky tyres, but apparently the M2 CS is internally known as the Drift Machine. Sounds like fun...
