Infiniti has officially revealed its Qs Inspiration concept ahead of its public debut at the Shanghai motor show this week, albeit from the front only.
Following leaked images of the electrified sedan published earlier this morning, the Hong Kong-based luxury division of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance has supplied the first images of its preview to an upcoming production model, a high-riding electrified sports sedan.
In its press release, Infiniti says: "The Qs Inspiration previews a forthcoming Infiniti production model and hints at the company’s electrified future, in which the brand will offer electric and e-Power powertrains".
"The concept’s all-new flexible architecture has been developed specifically to accommodate high-performance electrified powertrains, and enables a reinterpretation of traditional ‘three-box’ sedan design."
"Infiniti designers and engineers have been able to adapt the mechanical layout and physical proportions of the car, engaging drivers and keeping them connected to the road, while providing a sense of elevation and control," the company added.
We'll likely get more details regarding the Qs Inspiration's electrified powertrain when it goes on show in Shanghai next week (from April 16), giving a better indication of what to expect from the production model it precedes.
So far, we can see the vehicle will feature the company's e-Power parallel hybrid powertrain technology, offer all-wheel drive, and even perhaps have raised ground clearance a-la an SUV.
Earlier today images (above) from a studio shoot of the concept vehicle were leaked online, featuring a curvaceous exterior design and a digital-heavy cabin. Read more on that here.
