Mercedes-Benz Australia has recalled certain GLC and C-Class models, over concerns about the passenger seat occupant detection.
According to the company, a software bug in vehicles with the Audio 20 system could affect the system that detects occupants in the front passenger seat. The fault could mean the airbag inflates incorrectly in an accident.
Affected vehicles were (or will be) sold between September 1, 2017 and December 31, 2018. A total of 5752 cars are included – a VIN list is attached here.
Mercedes-Benz will contact owners of the affected vehicles, and advise them to get in touch with their nearest dealership for a free fix.
