Fourth member of brand's growing family surfaces during testing, wearing a heavy disguise.
Photographers have nabbed images of what is believed to be the Lynk & Co '01 Coupe', which will serve as the Chinese start-up's fourth model in its growing family.
In similar style to the BMW X4 and X6, along with the Mercedes-Benz GLC and GLE Coupes, the 01 Coupe will blend the high-riding body of a crossover with the sloping roofline of a coupe, serving as a design-focused niche product.
Like its wagon-bodied twin, the Lynk & Co 01 Coupe will ride on a version of the CMA platform developed by parent company Geely and fellow subsidiary Volvo, which is shared with the likes of the Volvo XC40 in addition to the wider Lynk & Co range.
That means a range of three- and four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engines will be offered depending on market, with the option of plug-in hybrid power as well. Further down the track, expect an all-electric version to satisfy China's growing demand for zero-emissions vehicles as emissions regulations tighten.
It's not confirmed whether the SUV coupe will actually bear the 01 moniker, though. The rumour mill speculates the new crossover could also be badged '04', following the 01 and 02 crossovers, along with the new 03 sedan.
Expect the 01 Coupe to be offered with the same range of net-based infotainment features and advanced driver assistance systems as its stablemates and related Volvo models, too.
As for timing, the heavy camouflage on this development prototype suggests the production model could still be some months away from launch, so our guess is that it'll be revealed sometime in the latter half of 2019.
The new model will almost certainly kick off initially in the Chinese market, and could potentially make its way to the European and US markets as part of the brand's wider export plans. For now, though, we'll have to wait and see.
