Mitsubishi Australia planning new Adelaide headquarters
Construction on the new site starts in 2019, and it's slated to open at some point in 2020.
Mitsubishi Australia will build a new national headquarters at Adelaide Airport, with plans to shift the workforce to the new site by 2020.
Although it considered moving to other states, Mitsubishi decided sticking with South Australia was the best way to maintain its current workforce.
The project is backed by a $2 million grant from the South Australian Government. Mitsubishi has been in South Australia for 38 years, although it stopped manufacturing vehicles locally in 2008 as production of the 380 was ended.
According to John Signoriello, Mitsubishi Motors Australia (MMAL) CEO, the new office location will make it easier to collaborate with dealer teams from across the country.
“MMAL is a national team that relies on collaboration with our regional staff and dealers to get our job done, therefore Adelaide Airport proved to be the logical place for our new headquarters,” Signoriello said.
Construction of the new headquarters will start in 2019.
