2019 Mitsubishi Triton teased
'Dynamic shield' face is coming soon to Mitsubishi's dual-cab ute.
Mitsubishi has given the first official hint about its upcoming 2019 Triton ute, with a shadowy teaser image published on its social media channels.
The picture is grainy, but confirms what we already knew about the upcoming Triton: it's going to have a face inspired by the Pajero Sport and Eclipse Cross, with a 'Dynamic Shield' grille and split head/fog-light setup.
That top lighting unit likely houses the headlights and daytime-running lights, while the lower section incorporates the indicators and fog-lights.
There are pumped-up guards, and the bonnet line is taller than before, designed to make the Triton look mean in the same way some of its dual-cab rivals do. Spy pictures have revealed a few design changes are coming to the rear end, while new alloy wheels are also likely to feature.
A few powertrain changes could also be coming. Right now, the most powerful engine offered in the Triton is a 2.4-litre turbo-diesel with 133kW and 430Nm. We'd suggest an eight-speed automatic from the Pajero Sport could make the leap into the dual-cab Mitsubishi, but that hasn't been confirmed.
Stay tuned for more on the upcoming Triton update.
